Magenta Monday

Today's color was magenta. This was both easy and hard. See, nothing at work is magenta. Nothing. But practically everything in my house is. I <3 magenta. 

Except nothing in the house seemed worthy of a picture....until I climbed into bed with the final book in one of my new favorite series:

The lighting in my bedroom isn't the greatest, but I promise it's magenta. 

By the way, since I know you Hollywood big shots totally follow my blog, I'm gonna need the people who make the Avengers movies to please bring the Gallagher Girls to the big screen. Please. I don't care how old I get, I will always want to be in spy school. Not just any spy school though. Only the best: Gallagher Academy. 

And of course I'll need my own spy boyfriend like Cammie has Zach (unless Zach turns bad in this book, in which case I recant that statement.) Although, I am a grown up...so I'll just go ahead and call dibs on Mr. Solomon.

Falu Red

Today marks the beginning of my annual Color Week! Every year I get my Facebook friends to assign me seven colors, then I go out and photograph the most epic thing of that color I can find. Today's color had me running to Google: falu red. Here's the best falu red object I could find:

Brown Sunday

I started this day with a photo of the empty sanctuary, before everyone came (I was the only one in the building and it was so peaceful!)

Then I just now spent an hour with my dad going through a box of old stuff his grandfather had given him years ago. Going through it, it's mostly about my dad's grandfather's brother, who was killed in WWI. The box had letters he had on him from his parents, photos, his death certificate, some medals, letters from the military, and other things. The ones I found the most interesting we're the letter from King George (seen below), the letter from one of the other soldiers in his division who was there when he was injured and described what happened for his mom, and the last letter he wrote his mom (dated 4 days before his death). He died exactly 71 years before I was born. It was cool to learn this part of my family's history!

TARDIS Blue Saturday

Color week is almost done! So is NaBloWriMo for that matter. Today's color comes from my brother, who I got to be a Whovian, too: TARDIS blue! Unfortunately, I didn't find much today that was TARDIS blue. This is as close as I got!

Lavender Friday

Boy was this one tough! Let's not do lavender again, okay? Here's what I've got, an altered book I made in high school with toys from my locker (yes, my locker had toys. And my Land had a theme song. Because I'm awesome.)

Silver Thursday

It's silver Thursday! And thanksgiving! I worked today, so this picture comes from work: my med keys! Hope you're having a great thanksgiving!

Orange Wednesday

I realized that every year of color week I somehow end up with an orange Wednesday! Not breaking the cycle now! I saw a ton of orange things today at the gym but my phone was in the locker...and I forgot. So enjoy this photo of cheese balls from my office!

Green Tuesday

It's green Tuesday, so here's my fuzzy socks! It's that kinda night....chilly!!

Red Monday

Today is the start of my annual color week! Yay! (This is so much easier than regular blogging where I have to be poignant and witty and...stuff.) I kinda forgot it was color week until I was at work. Thankfully I was at work on the Alzheimer's unit where lots of things are red! Here's my favorite.

Alizarin Crimson Sunday

It's the last day of Color week! I don't know if I'm happy or sad. Because I like color week. I'm a little disappointed that most of the photos for this week came from my house because of my cold thing. But, whatever. Today, I have TWO pictures for you. Because I like both of them. And neither of them are from my house!! Yahoo!

Mega Mind's Head Blue Friday!

Color week is almost finished and today's color is a mouthful! "Mega Mind's Head Blue" (Thank you, Sam for that ridiculously long color name!)

How fun are they?! If I had actually thought it out, and had more time to plan and execute, they probably would've been better,

but I still think they're pretty cool!

Puce Thursday!

Puce Thursday led to a....discussion between my mom and I about what color puce actually is. Keep in mind, she is the one who suggest puce in the first place. After Thanksgiving dinner, I asked if blueberry pie juice counted as puce. She vehemently disagreed, saying that puce was more orange, like the lighter orange in this leaf:

I tried to convince her that puce is a purpley-gray. She would not listen until several Google searches proved me right :) So, while we both searched the house for something that was puce, nothing acceptable was found. Until, I took a drink of my Coke, and realized....Straw+Coke=Puce! Challenge accepted! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Orange Wednesday

Today's picture comes from somewhere other than my house!! Hooray!! It's from my office at the church:

I got these little guys as a free sample in one of my orders from Oriental Trading Company. The big one's head pops off and has some of that noise putty inside. The only problem I have with the goop is that it smells, and after sitting on my desk for a month it smells worse and has hard chunks in it. But he's cute! So he sits on my desk and makes me smile :)

Chartreuse Tuesday!

Well, on the bright side, I now know how to spell chartreuse!

Once again, I went looking for a color in my house. Sorry. I'll actually go out the rest of the week, I promise. But today all I did was work and lay on my couch, so there weren't a whole lot of chartreuse options! But I found two nearby. I couldn't decide which one to put, so I'm giving you two!

Second, my elephant pillow. I love these. I got two of them for a few dollars at a thrift store a while back. They always make me smile :)

Royal Purple Monday!

Color Week is here!! Hooray! Today, I barely left the house. Seriously. I called out of work, and only left to get lunch from Wendy's. So the closest thing to royal purple I saw all day was my glue dot runner:

There's four boxes inside! How awesome is that?? I found this on Pinterest. You can find the directions here. I'm planning to make more of these for Christmas presents for my friends. I'll fill each box with cute little homemade gifts. How cute is this gonna be?!

Black Sunday

I can't believe color week is over! It went so fast! Now what am I going to write about for the rest of the month? Guess we'll find out soon! Here's my black thing. Black was surprisingly hard! This is from Taco Bell-KFC tonight with the girls.
